The glyph is similar to that of 00A3 £ > POUND SIGN, and 20A4 was *anyway* not used in favour of 00A3... In addition to Asmus' comments, I'll mention that 20A4 dates back to TUS1.1. I'm sure Ken has an interesting back story. Perhaps there was some legacy character set standard in which POUND SIGN and LIRA SIGN were contrastive. Peter
