Charles, I like your extensions, all of them, just I'd use something closer to the natural language, for example, "x initially y" for "{/x:=y; x}" instead "x :$ y". I think that the best policy is that each time it is found that some idiom occur frequently in source code, most comfortable language construct for same purpose should be introduced. Because, my understanding is, idiom is not (only) clever use of possibilities of language, they are calluses grown on the places where our thoughts are injured with language rules.
