I think this is an excellent idea - especially in conjunction with
a discussion forum (Wiki?) on the programs.

I'd volunteer my site (http://tapestry.tucson.az.us/unicon) but:

   (a) it's at the end of an ISDN line, and so severely bandwidth
       constrained
   (b) given my current state, I'm probably too busy to do a
       proper job with developing/maintaining it.

One that that would be *really* nice would be a 'download/install'
program (written in Unicon, *of course*) that could browse the
repository and then download programs (and dependencies?), possibly
building and installing them...
