Thanks.  Steve pointed this out as well.  Not obvious but the ah ha when he 
moved the space was interesting.

That creates a interesting error opportunity for mistyped augmented assignments.

It thinks you are saying

    a % =x

ie expressed in a freshly-invented pseudo-code

    a mod tab(match(x))
