Folks,

I spotted something odd last night and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on
it.

I've been looking at &allocated before and after expressions to get some
insight
into storage use and hit this:

before := &allocated
1./2
after := &allocated
write("delta &allocated = ",after - before)

which generates

delta &allocated = 12

Does anyone have a clue as to why evaluating a real number generates 12 bytes!?

The allocation is in the block region BTW and it makes no difference if the
expression is all reals or involves type coercion.
