Hi all.
When I see some credible substantiation for the
implied mugging risk between Thriftway and FG, I might
consider the argument presented.
When I see some credible substantiation that FG is in
any way discouraging "people from the neighborhood"
from shopping there, I might consider the argument
presented.
When I see credible substantiation (or even logical
connection) between one's vote and one's choice in
supermarkets, especially when one candidate and one
store both seem to be attracting many of the same
people (evidenced by Gore's majority in the area and
Thriftway's alleged troubles since FG opened), I might
consider the argument presented.
And, finally, when I see some compelling evidence that
conducting a divisive argument over one's choice in
grocery stores is more important than discussing
fairness issues in delivery of city services, fairness
in resource allocation between city and suburb,
fairness in educational funding, the one-time spending
of $250 million of blight money that will be financed
over decades, the impact of new energy policies on
urban dwellers (rich and poor), or almost any other
topic, then I might consider the argument presented.
Until then, I throw these topics out there. In my
opinion, discussing and debating them might prove more
valuable to the neighborhood than suggesting that
one's morality is reflected by his or her relative
value for produce quality versus the minority/economic
status of the surrounding shoppers.
