Why can't we upgrade to the
"historic" looking lights that actually put "soft" light
on the sidewalks that our taxes can pay for?

1) It is not the political agenda of the current mayor, who is under siege to cut taxes and maintain services while increasing pay and not cutting benefits to the City's unions.

2) How would you equalize the increased level of tax benefits, to all neighborhoods? The Central Business District will maintain that they are paying for their own capital improvements that make the CBD more attractive to business, therefore increasing tax revenues.

Fifty plus years of Democratic municipal leadership has failed to articulate an effective institutionalized strategic development plan that is creative, realistic, and achievable.

The City has abandoned its alleyway lighting program. What could be more readily achievable and show a concern for quality of life in all neighborhoods?
