Ok lets not get technical.  The average person in manhatten does not usually have a backyard.  Its a little less frequent there.  If you can afford to have a backyard in manhatten then you have some big bucks and can afford to have someone take car of your dog.

My point in the message I wrote was not to point out who has backyards or not, it was to make a comparison between Washington Sq's dog run and the one that could also work so well in Clark Park.  I personally don't see what all the big deal is about.  I mean people complain about dogs running off the leash and how they could potentially harm someone.  Well the answer is simple.  Build a dog run.  Well thats no good either because its a "hazard".  Well what are we supposed to do???  Catch 22!!!

I guess this is what happens when you live in a extremely diverse neighborhood.  You get many different opinions.  Maybe people need to learn to compromise a bit :)

When you refer to NYC, do you mean Manhattan? (There is also, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx that make up NYC.)
Also, that is not true, because many homes, Brownstones, etc. DO have backyards, even in the "Village"!
