Really, Glenn? I wouldn't describe committeeman7's style as "arrogant" in any way. Quite the contrary, it's plain and light. Very cleverly written, I think. It sounds natural and everyday. An artful trick.

It actually doesn't sound like the way either Ray or you or I write, even when none of us are being arrogant. Which, without doubt, all three of us may be accused of justly at times.

No, I think you're incorrect about a couple of things. It is not "very cleverly written" but I think it's a lot like your arrogant style of writing.

Let me explain the arrogance of the poster. The poster was trying to frame me. I have been very clear that I blame UCD policy and secrecy for recent media reports and not Councilwoman Blackwell or John Fenton. The hubris of the poster shows as he tries to destroy my credibility, of course, but also make it look like I was trying to embarass the councilwoman too.

It's so good you contacted the councilwoman about this fraud and reported to the list. You were also the one that discovered the voteforandytoy fraud, conducted an investigation, and reported on that too, weren't you? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I am starting to think of you as always there Tony.

The hubris of that little scandal was that it was someone that clearly wanted to get out the Toy message but also point to "listserv politics" and dissenters as the most likely culprits. You were the one that brought that report with those conclusions to the list, weren't you? You got really mad at me when I challenged your conclusions on this list. But don't you see how the poster was attempting two purposes, setting up misinformation while framing those he sees as enemies? Mr Toy must have been pleased with you when you investigated the fraud.

So you see in both cases there is a hubris in the style as the writer is trying to frame others. In my opinion, the poster is someone who thinks his writing is "very clever" Framing me is one thing but making the attempt to make it appear that I was trying to embarass the Councilwoman goes over the top in view of my posts on this subject. By the way, were Mr Bryan and Councilwoman Blackwell very pleased that you brought this to their attention so very very quickly?

Well, I know you are doing an investigation like good old UCD. Do you still suspect that Ray is involved?
Here is what you said yesterday:

"Ray,

I think your original admission of complicity was plainer, if less discreet.
We'll let it stand."

You also said this, which makes it appear that you suspected all along that committeeman 7 was me:

"A marvelous propaganda tool for those who see "secret meetings"
and "stonewalls" everywhere, eh?"

I said, oh my gods, those ar my words, "secret meetings" and "stonewalls" I thought, does Tony think committeeman 7 is me? He's suggesting Ray is a conspirator, but those seem clearly to be my words. That's when the evidence came flowing in and the pack assembled as my guilt was proven.

It's no wonder folks started looking at me as a suspect after your fine reporting and analysis of likely culprits. I wonder what Councilwoman Blackwell will think when she finds out that the poster also tried to frame me?

Mr West, keep up that first on the scene investigative reporting. And as always, I look forward to your brilliant analysis uncovering the likely suspects before any one else even knows that there's been a fraud. Some might wonder how does Tony manage to do that "very cleverly?"

Just wondering,
the real Glenn

I'm more concerned about the fact committeeman7 published a malicious, injurious lie on UC-list than whether he was arrogant or humble as he did so.

Come to the First Thursday meeting at the Walnut Street Library, 40th and Walnut Street for an update on the UCD's investigation into Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell's claim that she asked UCD for help at a community fair or a political rally for Tom Knox. This should be interesting.

The meeting starts at 8:00am and a light breakfast will be served. Please inform your neighbors.

Above is the post from committeman 7.

Do we know anyone on this list who likes to make false claims about others? Anyone who does so in an arrogant style similar to the fraudulent post?
