Just to clarify, Loree Jones is not with the Streets Dept.; she is the Managing Director of the City of Philadelphia and the Streets Dept. and other operating departments are accountable to her.

Construction has begun on Chester Avenue even though the appropriate permits have not been secured. This construction would be in direct violation of the Historical Commission's ruling that all the Belgian block between 41 and 49th must be restored as part of its local historical designation as part of the Philadelphia Historic Street Paving Thematic District of 1998, which placed it and other city street pavings, including 40th, 49th and Lindbergh Avenue, on the local register of historic places.
