Here is an excellent interview for a general overview of crisis capitalism and the debt ceiling charade playing out in the corporate media machine.

I would add to Wolff's analysis, that Republican/Democrat politicians are not merely controlled by election money and reelection. If they obey the corporate masters they all get high paying lobbyist positions for those same masters, whether they are reelected or not.

It's a second way that enormous amounts of money buys power over the lawyer millionaires in the executive and legislative branches of government. If people recognize that fact, they will be better able to understand the goals of the charades played out between Democrats and Republicans. (Health care reform was a similar charade by corporations acting as bipartisan puppet masters.)

Wolff's analysis of our lack of organization in the US is right on! Chris Hedges covers the death of our "liberal institutions" which once nudged society toward justice. That's a big part of our collapsing society.

And here in the district, I saw how the manipulation of consumers over decades, and the loss of human values and civic literacy, had opened the door to a corporate "fascist shift." It doomed Clark Park to privatization. (Fascist shift as outlined by Naomi Wolf in End of America)

Other News the corporate media won't cover: A fascist takeover of Detroit is imminent. (link provided)

I believe the people of West Philly understand where Philadelphia will be divided in coming years. The early signs of this New Orleans style cleansing of cities started here over ten years ago. Detroit is the first to officially follow New Orleans and this paradigm is in the future of Philadelphia unless there is a national revolution.

Here is the corporate coverage of the Detroit Shift. Those people who've been here for the Penn gentrification can recognize the language marketing the "vision" which also succeeded here.
