Are you planning on making the MDK machine be public? Is your router doing NAT and firewall for you? > That NTFS issue looks like being a problem. You may be able to do NTFS to fat32 just within XP or have PM do NTFS to ext2 and then have linux do the ext2 -> ext3 > The AMD machine doesn't need to be a fast one as it'll only be used for > writing documents, and browsing the internet. You do know that you can use firefox on linux for surfing and grip for ripping to flac, etc. so you could move completely over from the dark side :-) I do keep an old W2K machines for doing .net development and running Dreamweaver. It sounds like neither of your machines need to be public to the 'net. If so, let your router do firewalling and NAT and you can get away with much less security hassle on the MDK box. At least until you want to stream your tunes to your office from the MDK box. -- Pat Farrell http://www.pfarrell.com _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
