Pretty total Linux newbie looking for the simple console command to shutdown Slimserver on my Debian (Xandros) machine.
The startup scripts are working fine; simply restarting the machine starts Slimserver. There are forum posts about setting up startup scripts, but that's not what I want to do, and I haven't been able to extract the "command" part of the script and make it work as a command like: "start-stop-daemon --stop --quiet --pidfile /var/run/$NAME.pid" on the console. I even tried the instructions on command line operation (from the Slimserver online documentation) on telnetting to localhost:9090 and using the shutdown command. It looked like it worked - it echoed the shutdown command - but Slimserver was still running when I checked it from another machine. Any ideas? -- AndyL ------------------------------------------------------------------------ AndyL's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8133 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29060 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
