While I understand RAID 0 in a highly changing business system is it really the solution to your home music system?
This is after all a static data set, changed when you add new music. Disks fail we all know that but if you have a backup its not really a problem. I think it would be easyier to manage if you just attached a second disk to your system and rsync the contents of your live system to your second disk. The problem with mirrors is they go corrupt at exactly the same time that the master disk screws up. I keep a backup of my music library on a client PC. At work my servers use raid, online spares and snap backups because downtime costs money. At home a disk outage will have to wait while I buy a replacement and restore a backup. -- DaveBrennan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DaveBrennan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6357 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30765 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
