I have a similar problem. I have a brand new NSLU2, never been unslung, never had slimserver installed.
I am running V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.8-beta, and followed the instructions (and made some up where there were none!) from here:- http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Applications/SlimServer I created a slimserver user and group with the NSLU2 web interface. It has a blank password and is in the admin group. I can start slimserver by changing the path export PATH=$PATH:/opt/libexec:/opt/bin and running start slimserver The web interface then works on port 9000, but if I scan any music directories it never finds any files! I've even put a couple of MP3's in /home/slimserver as I know it has access there! I'm now stuck and don't have a clue what to try next! I can't order my Squeezebox until I get slimserver working!
