Thanks for the answer - I was afraid that this would be the case. The clean and rescan option works fine (I do not have to clean the cache), but it takes over 2 hours - I already batch all the changes on Friday night. Another anoying thing is that by doing the cleaning I also lose all my usage statistics - info like playcount and lastplayed is lost for all the tracks and this can be quite useful when playing songs in random mode (the SlimServer uses this info to make sure it does not repeat the same tracks too often).
