I think adding this to SqueezeCenter this would be a useful enhancement. I've noticed the same thing on a plugin I've been developing that will automatically update the database when it detects changes in the music library folder tree - that works great when adding new music, but if you move it around or rename it the "old" files linger in the database even though they aren't there any longer.
