I may have given you some bad advice earlier. On a standard Ubuntu
install the plugins should go in /var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins/ , and
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/ should have a symbolic link.

Two questions: (1) what folder did you unzip into, and (2) did you
restart SC before looking for the new plugins?
