Hello again, I just thought it might be interesting for all involved to see what is going on here, as others might happenstance on the same problem when upgrading their debian system
squeezecenter 7.2.1. seems to have so fight going on with regards to mysql - and does not get properly initiated on start I uninstalled and purged all 7.2.1 related files and folder apt-get --purge remove squeezecenter and removed all prefs rm -Rf /var/lib/squeezecenter this brought the system back under control, no PID's idling any more, and no more restarts and die messages I then went to http://downloads.slimdevices.com/ and downloaded the 7.1 .deb file for use on my Debian machine once downloaded - as root : dpkg -i squeezecenter_7.1_all.deb which will install this packaged .deb file on the machine in question (you can always uninstall this later on with dpkg -r - which removes the intstallation again) and guess what - this works ! I can now scan my local files again through the GUI - and can access all files through the SB controller ... So - in short - don't upgrade the squeezecenter package for now (2008/11/05) - as it tends to break on a Linux machine (not sure about Windows) If you upgraded inadvertently - revert to a downloaded package from the link above - 7.1 seems to be OK. Hope this helps. Off to bed now :) Cheers, Frank -- criticalmess ------------------------------------------------------------------------ criticalmess's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20877 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54665 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
