When you say 9.10, you should distinguish between 32 and 64 bit. 9.10-64 bit really doesn't work.
There are a few problems with the deb package, including a requirement for mysql 5.0, not 5.1. This causes fits with the apt packaging system as for some reason downgrading mysql on 9.10 64 bit fails. Once you've got that resolved (and I don't have a good, clean, keep-apt-working way to do that yet), you will have strange and unsettling errors until you realize that most of the included apps, like sox, alac, etc. are 32-bit compiled, and will not work on 64 bit hardware. I'm trying the perl source download right now to see if it works better. -- vessenes ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vessenes's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1327 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71869 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
