A reboot of both the squeezeboxserver computer and duet controller after the previous brought a measure of success.
I brought up the computer first and opened the browser, which connected to the squeezeboxserver immediately. Then brought up the duet controller, which found the wireless network immediately, but could not connect to my Music Library - until a second try, which succeeded.
