definitely make sure that you have added the correct music folder to LMS. if LMS isn't finding your drive, it is because you have to yet set the right permissions: i run ubuntu 12.04 and have my music on an external NTFS drive. i had to make sure the drive was mounted. i use the NTFS Configuration Tool (which needs to be installed) and run it once.
