Nowadays with a quite powerful client like the wandboard I would prefer to let the UI code reside on the client side.
Without knowing too much about jivelite's internals I can imagine that it should not be be too complicated to create a character based or even a graphics lcd compatible renderer for jivelite. Creating a Boom style UI from scratch, based on the LMC CLI (for example http://crestron-squeeze.googlecode.com/files/cli-api_7.6.htm), is definitely an option, but appears like a duplication of effort to me.
