I have been using piCorePlayer for about a month now and I am very pleased with the performance and sound quality. Many thanks to those who have worked on it.
I am playing via HDMI into an AVR. I note that there is currently an issue with higher-resolution files being downsampled, although this isn't a major problem for me, because I believe the EQ processing on the AVR only works at 48khz anyway. One thing I have noticed is that when playing high resolution files (24/88.2 and above), the player does not work "gaplessly", so my enjoyment of long rambling operas is interrupted slightly at each track transition. This issue does not arise with 16/44.1 files which play perfectly. I found that a workaround was to synchronise with an old squeezebox classic, which for some reason forced the piCorePlayer to play hi-res files gaplessly. I wonder if there are any changes I could make to the squeezelite settings which might offer a more elegant solution, or whether this might fix itself once the HDMI output is sorted? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jonny400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61851 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
