Not directly editable, but if it is only a couple of files, then you can
break the symlink and copy the file from the read only filesystem.  Then
you can edit, but changes will not be persistent through a reboot.

Ok, that was easy enough. I remove that statement which caused Perl 5.24 to fail. It was a check for Perl v5.8.5... 5.8.6 has been out for 12 years. We shouldn't need to worry about this any more :-).

If you don't pull the latest automatically, you might want to update your build to the latest git commit.
