Gaps replacing audio usually means either the connection is broken and remade - this can be seen on WebUI with the elapsed timer being reset to zero. The alternative source of gaps is squeezelite and the pi hardware. Turning on squeezelite logging would be appropriate - I don't know how to enable squeezelite logging on picoreplayer .
