I have a standalone pCP+LMS system with a 1TB USB SSD that has worked well since I started in 3.5.0, now at 4.0.0, that I set up with a static IP, no DNS. The IP address and other parameters are set to the fixed IP in my home network that I use when the system is home for maintenance. When I take it to work, it just runs without network. pCP is pointed to that address.
