I think Apple is having 10.2 detect the CPU and not installing unless a G3 or G4 is present - it has nothing to do with XPF. Ryan thinks it "might be possible" to fix this, but not anytime soon. IAC, G3/G4 upgrade cards are cheap - and getting cheaper, finally. There was a guy on eBay selling brand new Sonnet G4/450 cards for $265 shipped a couple of months ago. That's where I got mine. Needless to say, it makes a *huge* difference over the 200 mhz 604e I was running.
