my advice. get at least an 8 meg video card. 30.00 on ebay, maybe cheaper. ram is cheap. get 256 megs in there. get a 233 or 266 g3 card(cheap) and overclock it a little. OSX will run well on a machine like that.
what i did with my 8500 was this: ZIF card, G3 233(clocked to 275), 336 ram, 8 meg video card. OSX was very respectable on this box. now it runs a 350 g3(clocked to 420), and has an ide card and a 30 gig 7200 rpm ide drive. big improvement and silent as can be. the real deal for you would be an ATI Rage Pro or Orion card(16 & 32 megs vram respectively), 512 megs ram, ZIF card with 350 g3 overclocked to 400, ata card with 7200 rpm drive.
