There is no 3d acceleration, and no 2d acceleration (no OpenGL, no QuickTime acceleration (MPG's play slow on my G3 400 w/Voodoo3 in X but play great in OS9), and no Quartz Extreme acceleration). >would a Voodoo 5 work with Jaguar in an 8500 you think? It's not a problem with the Mac, no Voodoo cards have accelerated drivers in OS X or Jaguar. There are drivers for OS 9.x only. With OS X < 10.2, you can use the Voodoo as a secondary adapter in any PCI Mac. With Jaguar, you can use it as a primary adapter if you want, but you will get MUCH better speed with a Radeon 7000 or even a hacked Rage128 Pro from a B&W G3.
