You're booting in verbose mode. Go back into 9.2, fire up XPostFacto and 
uncheck Verbose Mode from the menu (I forget which one).

Then it'll bott up ionto the gray apple, for just about as long...doing 
vernose mode boooting doesn't significantly change the boot time afaik.

I prefer booting in that fashion; I can see what's going on.

Then again, I'm an old Unix hand, I can make sense of most of what is 
flying by on console during boot.
