Hello, members of the UnsupportedOSX mailing list. I have just got OS X 10.1.5 up and running on a PowerMac 7500 with a Sonnet Crescendo G3/350, using XPostFacto, after wrangling for a couple of days with the nightmare of squeezing it all into my 1GB hard drive. (What's with the OS X installer not wanting to run unless there's 300MB free minimum EVEN if it's a 720K update? Man, that was quite a hurdle I only barely managed it by installing 10.1 and then working up from there, cutting more flesh and bone from my drive between every install. I know, I know. If this works out I will just get a bigger drive.)
Various FAQs and help files have helped me along in the process. The one thing I can't find mention of anywhere, however, (too bad this list seems to have no archive because I'm sure it's been discussed before), is how to enable support for the analog video-in jacks (both composite and S-video). These are really important to me, since I have no television and I have always relied on my PowerMac to interface with my VCR, my PlayStation, and more recently my DVD player. I want to keep this arrangement in OS X! I tried BTV and it won't work, it says it won't recognise my card, which is nothing more than the built-in video capture support. Even if I could get the SOUND IN rca jacks working, that would be an improvement, at least, if I can't get the whole ball of wax. Anybody out there solved this problem? I am fairly new to OS X so please forgive me if there is some obvious utility out there that escaped my notice, and thanks in advance, Paul. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
