"I have used it many times" referring to Norton 7.0 for OSX brings back
memories of what it did to my install of OSX.....
Bummer put it in the trash and never use it again and do a fresh
install of OSX and I hope you have those serials numbers written down .
You may think I am kidding well I'm not! First off there is an upgrade
to Norton 7.0 which is needed but Norton 7.x IMHO should only be ran
from the CD and never installed on the disk. It isn't possible to boot
a CD from within OSX on an old World Mac. So it's not possible to run
without problems on your Machine IMHO.

Ok the good news is if you have the Norton CD of 7.0 it also has Norton
6.04 on it which is for OS 9.x this can be used from within OS9 either
just run while in OS 9 or boot from the disk while in OS9. You can then
run it on your OSX disk and you may be able to fix things without doing
an install of OSX. IF you have Disk Warrior (and everyone should) I
would run that first and then Norton Disk DR and then Speed Disk to
de-fragg. Things may then be back to normal if your lucky. It worked on
my machine. You best shot for getting back the serial numbers and
settings are with Disk Warrior. Best of luck. Will S
