I'm running an 8600 with a Sonnet G4 800 Mhz upgrade card. I've got a Radeon 7000 video card, 704 Mb of RAM and a Sonnet Tempo ATA 133 with a 40 Gb hard drive. I'm running 10.2.4 installed over the Sonnet X installer software. I've run the Sonnet Tune up, I've installed all the latest drivers for everything. L2 and L3 caches show up in the profiler.
OS X runs, but it's painfully slow. I'm getting an XBench score of 16. The graphics numbers are particularly bad. I should be getting an XBench score of around 50 based on what other people are getting. Has anybody got any tips? Speed tweaks? Radeon secrets? I'm hoping to avoid deleting the OS and reinstalling. Oh, and if anybody has any hints for resolving problems with the internal SCSI chain in Jaguar, I'd love to hear those as well.
