Oddly enough, I've never had problems with iTunes on my Umax S900. (XLR8
G3/300) Running either under 9.1 or (my main OS) 10.x. I started with
iTunes 1 under 10.1.3 and went all the way to 10.2.6 with iTunes 4 (4.0,
not 4.0.1) without an issue. This was the same with a simiularly upgraded
8500.

Maybe it was more of a software issue? I haven't heard of many people
having problems with iTunes on unsupported machines.

Now if I could get 10.2 to actually work on my 8600 Kansas, I'd be really
happy. Damn kernal panics...
