It's been working before, but now the installer quits.

Anyone have a solution?

Hi Paul,
In the menu of XPF select single user mode under Advanced. On restart, you'll see all code and it will stop with a cursor. Type "fsck -y" (no quotes); that's "fsck space-y". You will be in unix and the system will check your HD. If your HD is having a problem, the Jag repair disk repair fixes it (Hopefully); the code will stop with message saying disk has been modified with the current date. If there's no problem, the sequence will say disk disk is OK with another cursor. Type "exit" or "logout" and the startup will continue. Good luck.
Eric
