Fixed my own problem, after a little research and an idea.

Created a root account (wasn't aware Apple disabled it) and deleted all of the hidden files in these "directories" and then was able to remove the directories then. Did have a problem with one of the hidden files, though. Had to go into the finder and "Get Info"'ed it, found something called "stationary pad" whatever that is, and unchecked it (it was a "-" mark in the box). Was able to get rid of it then.

Why in the heck did Apple make it so friggin' hard to delete common files in this OS? I know that UNIX is UNIX, but they could have disabled these kind of pain-in-the-butt things. I guess they didn't feel like it, eh?

Although I no longer have a problem, I have a question because of all this: Is there any utilities (Freeware, please) that I should have for X that will make my life a little easier with these kind of situations?

Michael
