I just transfered a Microtek ScanMaker X6EL scanner from my wife's G3 to my PM8500, believing that I could use the VueScan software from Hamrick Software (www.hamrick.com) to run it under OS X 10.2.8. Whenever I try to run VueScan(version 7.6.72), I get the message "No scanner was found attached to your computer...". If I click OK on that message, click OK on the welcome window, and then click on the File menu, I get the spinning beachball . It is a SCSI device and the literature claims that it is supported. The Apple System Profiler does recognize it, but lists its product name as "scanner 636EL" vice "X6EL". The scanner is my only external SCSI device and has a terminator installed. The SCSI "Target" number is 6 and doesn't match the target number on SCSI CD player or hard drives. Do I need to load some Microtek software even though it only claims to be good up through OS 9.x?

System -PM8500 system with XLR8 CarrierZIF, 450MHz-G4, 448 Meg RAM,
Quantum 37GB SCSI HD, Seagate 17 GB HD, & OS 10.2.8 via XPostFactO v. 2.2.4, IOGear 2
port USB card, LaCie CD burner via OWC Mercury 400 3 port firewire PCI card

                Thanks for your help,
                                        Doug Throp
