Greetings, This is probably a stupid question, but in certain ways it seems non-obvious:
Other than the video cards that are specifically labeled by the manufacturers as Mac-compatible, and other than the retail versions of the cards that Apple bundles with their systems, what video cards can you use with a PowerMac G4 or G5 under OS X? For example, with the new G5s, Apple bundles the relatively inexpensive and underpowered GeForce FX 5200 Ultra. Well, what if I want to use a 5900 or 5950? Are there any issues with cards not specifically blessed by Apple? Will the card work, but simply not give me the same performance it would give to someone using a PC with Windows drivers? Thanks.
