I have a CompUSA store brand 2 port USB 2.0 card working fine in my UMAX S900 Mac clone (Very similar to a 9600, I believe) running OS 9.1. Of course it only works at USB 1.1 speeds (or is it 1.2?) but since that's what all my USB stuff is (digital camera and CD burner) it doesn't matter anyway. If I ever got OS X running on the S900, I think the card would start working at 2.0 speeds. (If I had any 2.0 stuff to plug into it.) It's not a combo card though.
