ZIF CPU interchange?

I finally got a Beige G3 Rev.2 to hopefully upgrade using one of my 
7500's. The 7500 has an XLR8 G4/400 Mach Carrier card with a ZIF CPU. 
The question is: can I just switch the two ZIF CPU's around so that my 
Beige will become the G4 400 and the Mach Carrier card the G3 266? I 
think this is true, but I'm not 100% certain. Thanks! Kris
