> Very true, however, there's a big price difference. Yeh, you can get used cards in the AHA2940 family for a song, thanks to all the big iron switching to fiberchannel and old SCSI RAID arrays going on the used market, and most can be flashed into the corresponding APD2940 using the Adaptec flash utilities. You have to pay full price for a 2930. Which is probably one reason Adaptec dropped them for OS X, it'd kill the market for the 29160 family. > It's way out of my programming knowledge, but you'd think that since > the 2940 supports Unix, there should be a way to get it to run on OSX > with a unix hack? Darwin supports the 2940, but the Darwin 2940 driver doesn't know about sleep... so it never wakes up again. Odds are there's other issues, though mine worked pretty well for about 47 minutes (with a 30 minute sleep timer). -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
