Thanks Bruce. What a deal. I can't believe how these burners have dropped in price! I was looking at the Pioneer burners and there are no positive reports on it on a beige at xlr8yourmac.com--what a great website that is. Will see if there's any reports with this Toshiba drive on beige G3's. I was hoping to use it with iDVD so it appears that iDVD won't recognize this Toshiba drive, but if there are third party DVD burning applications that work with it, that might suffice.

This is not strictly on topic but someone asked if DVD writers work in beige G3s, cannot answer that but can confirm that it seems OK in B&W G3s.

I know that the toshiba DVD-r/rw CD-r/rw I just got works just fine. <http://www.mdmm.com/products/optical/dominator6in1.asp> iDVD won't work with it, 10.2.8 recognized it as fully supported. Boots, too.

I picked it up at Office max for $79 (after rebate).
