Well; A few things first...
These are questions more for the G_List on LEM. Unsupported is for older
"legacy" boxes.. I.E. 6500.7xxx, 8xxx etc. But semantics aside here we go..
Apple says they will not support the upgrades because of warrenty
reasons AFAIK. But being that you are already running a G4 as it is, I don't
see why you would need to upgrade the processor just to go to Panther.
Now if you are a graphics designer, digital video designer, etc. Then
you might need that extra power.
But if the Panther upgrade is your only reason, I don't think you would
need it. If anything dump some more ram into the beast. :)
