Hi I was indeed curious to see whether it was the memory problem that caused the ethernet problems, however the 9600 is actually used for quite a bit of 'real' work (fileserver and RIP for Epson 9600 printer) It has also been running fine since I last touched it...
I tried the card in a spare 9500 (G3/400 osx server 10.3.3) that usually runs fine - same stuttering flow and poor performance with the Asante card. While trying out various things with the 9500 I also tested a (PC) Adaptec 29160 SCSI card I'd 'found' - this is not seen/supported under OS 9, but works fine under 10.3.3 Using a small scsi drive on the internal bus as a 'helper' in XPostFacto (3 a16) it could even be booted into 10.3.3 -- now to look out for that fast wide SCSI disk that was in the 'junk' box :-) Interestingly enough, the presence of the 29160 stopped the Asante card from working - perhaps the ATA133 card in the 9600 also affected it? Or perhaps just a duff card! bye for now Keith Cooper http://www.northlight-images.co.uk -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
