Hi there.

Sorry if this is a bit OT, but I figure my Rev c iMac is _almost_ in the
realms of unsupported :-)

How well would MacOS 10.3 run on my Rev c iMac (the fruit coloured
266MHz G3, Rage Pro 6MB VRAM model)? Acceptably fast? Much slower than
8.6 which I currently run?

I'd like to be able to use Safari and Apple's Mail or Bare Bones
Software's MailSmith and have as many files open as I like, but not if
it's going to be painfully slow. I can live with a little speed
reduction, but not excessively so.

Stuff that puppy with memory, that'll help, but a 266 is a 266. Panther will run on it, but that is the lowest end of supported systems. I don't know how responsive it'll be.

I've installed it on a 333 iMac, and it was about as fast as the OS 9 that had been on it, so I would say try it.
