As for good mail clients, others can advise better than me. (Mozilla's mail works well for me, but has no auto-threading in the versions which can run on 8.6.)

There is only one mail client as far as I am concerned - Eudora, if RAM/Speed is an issue download version 5.x. 6.x is more CPU intensive and gobbles up more RAM too. Best features? It's free (In Lite or sponsored mode) very powerful, scriptable, can manage multiple accounts, etc but best of all no MS crap or viral probs. IMHO anyway
