I have been trying to install X onto my G3'd 7600. I am installing from an original install disk that says it will install onto G3s, etc.
The install seems to go okay, although it chokes on the BSD subsystem. The customization menu seems to indicate this is unnecessary, so I untick it, along with all the languages. After that, the install goes along just fine. I boot into X, can run little programs like chess and image capture, but when I click on any of the biggies, like Internet Explorer, Imovie or Itunes, it says application is quitting or something like that. When trying to launch Internet Explorer, it says something about carbonlib. I have 256 meg of memory and X is on a 4 gig partition. I have used the updater to update X to 10.15 or whatever the maximum this version of X is capable of. It is frustrating to see the beautiful OS, but not be able to run anything. Any suggestions?
