Well I have not installed Panther as yet but I did take Sven's advice & got a gig of ram. Now a new problem, I can only install 784mb's, or 6 sticks of 128mb a piece. My Umax S900 running 9.2 will not boot up. I take out 2 sticks from the A1 & A2 slot and it will boot. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks Tom
Dead/faulty RAM/slots?
First and perhaps simplest ensure that they were seated correctly. Sounds obvious but just check
Have you tried those sticks in other slots (or even another Machine) - if they work in other slots then possibly slots damaged
Have you tried lower capacity RAM in those slots - not sure if there is an upper limit to RAM for these boxes.
Regards
Simon
