Thanks Tom. I was going to try your suggestion, and I still need to rebuild the desktop as I had some weird things happen last night, but the problem with the card appears to be fixed. This is what I did. I disabled the onboard video, but I could not restart in OS X. Open Firmware told me something or other failed. So I typed "bye" and it started up in OS 9 with the Radeon Card. But then when I started up in OS X, the onboard video in OS X had not been disabled. Maybe it was b/c it had the VGA adapter still connected to the built-in vga port. So after a few of these tries and retries and forced restarts--probably b/c the machine was sending the video to the built in video and I didn't realize that--I thought it just wasn't giving me any video at all since the screen would remain black--I got it working correctly in both 9 and X. So that's cool. If I ever can't boot the computer and I need to re-enable the onboard video, I suppose the only way would be to take out the PRAM battery and reset the the cuda button right?

Felix I would suggest starting with your extentions. Take them to the bare minimum, keeping only what you need. Then zap the pram, rebuild the desktop & see waht happens.

When I zap the pram on my system I have to let it boot on a black screen & then reboot to an awakened screen...
